November 2009
Tis the season for everyone to begin
getting together with family. Just remember that everyone is different
and we need to accept others as they are. Remember the things that
make them special to you. Each of us have our own special quirks, so
enjoy the person where they are.
If you are giving gifts, you might
consider giving those you love more of your time. Try to spend at
least 30 minutes with your family. You need to set aside at least 30
minutes for your significant other during the day, as well. Share your
positive feelings you have about them and yourself. Listen carefully
without interrupting. Express your love and caring. Remember, block out your
time with them just like an event you, so that you have the time. Time
is very important to relationships.
Other family members will enjoy your
time too. Perhaps, a telephone call, a personal visit, a lunch
or dinner. I t is not important to spend money to show how much you
care. What is important is that you really listen when you are in
someone's company.
Last , but certainly no least, give
yourself some time. It may be hard, but schedule it in. Quiet
time to read a book, just think, whatever might feel good and give you a
time to be refreshed from the world.
Have a great holiday season!
Thoughtfully,
Sherry Mitchell
